Circle Logistics Approved as ACC Responsible Care Partner, Expands Safety and Sustainability Push

Circle Logistics has been approved by the American Chemistry Council (ACC) as a Responsible Care Partner, a designation that places the Fort Wayne–based 3PL among a select group of logistics providers meeting the chemical industry’s highest standards for safety, compliance and environmental performance.
The approval formalizes Circle’s commitment to continuous improvement across environment, health and safety (EHS), security, product stewardship and operational practices—areas governed by ACC’s widely recognized Responsible Care program. The move also comes as chemical shippers face rising expectations for safe handling, stronger documentation and predictable logistics performance.
As part of its Responsible Care partnership, Circle has also adopted the industry’s Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) initiative, aimed at preventing the loss of plastic resin and other chemicals during transport. This includes upgraded site protocols, driver training and handling practices designed to reduce environmental risk across the company’s chemical network.
“Being accepted into the ACC Responsible Care Partner program is a significant step for our company and our customers,” said Robert Fortmeyer, general counsel at Circle Logistics. “We view ourselves as expert partners in the safe and efficient transport of chemicals, and this recognition underscores our commitment to reliability, compliance and sustainability across the supply chain.”
The Responsible Care designation arrives at a time when chemical-sector supply chains continue to absorb increased regulatory scrutiny, tighter safety expectations and rising volume variability. Circle’s participation in the program aligns its operations with the chemical industry’s shared goals for safer transport, stronger accountability and clearer communication with the communities in which its customers operate.
Circle’s role as a multimodal 3PL—managing dry van, flatbed, tanker-adjacent chemical freight, oversize, expedite and cross-border moves—gives the company broad exposure to the specialized requirements of chemical shippers. The company says the ACC accreditation supports its focus on high-compliance operations and positions it to take on more complex chemical freight.
